Our desktop app is digitally signed with a DigiCert Extended Validation (EV) certificate. This means DigiCert verified we're a real company (Home Office OS LLC) and the software is authentic. You'll see our name as the verified publisher when installing.
Yes, for 2025 (to file 2024 taxes). Desktop version is "pay what you want" - you can enter $0 if you wish. We're building trust and user base this year. The 2026 version will have a reasonable price.
Both are private and free. Web version is convenient and works anywhere. Desktop version offers maximum privacy (works offline) and is professionally signed. If you're privacy-conscious or need to work offline, choose desktop.
The 2025 version expires December 31, 2025. You'll need the 2026 version to file 2025 taxes (available January 2026). Your data can always be exported.
Correct. We have no analytics, no cookies, no tracking. We don't know how many users we have, where they're from, or how they use the app. That's the point.
